Next to Nina Hartley and Julia Ann (no relation), the recently-retired (but for how long?) Lisa Ann had one of the longest careers in porn.
Beginning as a fresh-faced and deceptively wholesome Wicked contract girl in the post-Jenna Jameson 1990s, Lisa Ann was for several years a go-to brunette who fit right in the pocket of Wicked’s emergence as a stalwart of classier porn in an industry slowly filling up with gonzo shockers like Max Hardcore, Rob Black, and JM Productions.
And then she left the business in the early 2000s because she felt she was getting old. You see, there was no such thing as a MILF market back then.
But her retirement was shortlived. Returning as an agent in 2005, Lisa Ann first worked for LA Direct Models before starting her own agency. Then she started booking herself on jobs what was happening that women over 30 were suddenly in vogue.
It had something to do with Stiffler’s Mom in American Pie. Lisa Ann soon found herself working more than ever, and this was before anyone south of Alaska had ever heard of Sarah Palin.
When the former Alaska governor became a Thing in the 2008 election, Lisa Ann shot a quickie 4-scene movie for Hustler that was edited and distributed in a lightning-fast two weeks. Who’s Nailin Paylin? and its sequels made Lisa Ann’s take on Palin almost as big a cultural touchstone as Tina Fey’s.
After Palin’s star dimmed (perhaps partially in thanks to her porn drubbing) Lisa Ann continued working in MILF and cougar movies as well as anything that required big tits and big butts. She danced, she escorted, she connected with fans as she had since the 1990s.
In 2014 Lisa Ann announced her retirement from porn. Will it stick? Maybe she has a fourth act in her yet.
